Campus Dining

Appalachian Food Services offers a diverse selection of dining options located on East and West campus for students' convenience.

  • Central Dining Facilities - River's Street Cafe features: Homestyle Classics, Noodle Works, Healthy Select, Sushi Bar, Rivers Street Grille, Fire Side Pizza, The Fresh Market, Treat Yosef, the Bake Shop and wrAPPS
    • Sanford Commons features: Traditions, Habanero's, Salads Plus, Chick-fil-A, The Pizzeria, Sub Shop and On-the-Go.
  • Trivette Hall - Features: Park Place Cafe, McAlister's Select, The Market
  • Plemmons Student Union - Features: Cascades Cafe, McAlister's Deli
  • Jackson Dining Room - Located in the Broyhill Inn and Conference Center

Residence Life

Appalachian's Housing and Residence Life offers 19 residence halls throughout campus, home to about 5,000 students, ranging from traditional residence halls to suites and apartments to residential learning communities that revolve around a particular theme. All rooms and public spaces in the residence halls are smoke-free.

Only incoming freshmen are guaranteed housing during their first year at Appalachian. Although everything possible will be done to accommodate requests, new transfer students and returning students are not guaranteed on-campus housing. Returning students may reapply for housing during the month of February each year.
