Fall Family Day

Fall Family Day will be held in September 2009 (same day as Fall Open House). The specific date will be announced soon. Join students, parents, faculty, and staff for a full day of activities for the entire Appalachian Family. A full schedule will be available soon. Reservations are not required.

Travel Advisory for Highway 321

Due to N. C. Department of Transportation's widening project, the section of U.S. 321 from Kirby Mountain Road to Blackberry Road in Caldwell County may temporarily close on Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon until 2 p.m., weather permitting.

During the closure, traffic is detoured on N.C. 18 to Wilkesboro and then to U.S. 421 North to Boone.

Avoid this long detour by planning ahead before traveling on U.S. 321. Visit the NCDOT Traveler Information Management (TIMS) Web site at http://apps.dot.state.nc.us/tims/ or call 511, the state's travel information line for current travel conditions.

All lanes will remain open Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m., during major holidays, throughout all weekends in October for leaf season and for all Appalachian State University home football games.
