The office of Off-Campus Student Services (OCSS) (opens in a new tab) provides information and resources for students living off-campus in and around Boone. One of the primary ways in which OCSS does this is by providing students with relevant information about finding housing off-campus.

Off-Campus Housing

Appalachian provides resources to help you locate off-campus housing in and around Boone. Although OCSS does not assign roommates, endorse specific landlords and apartments, or match students with available housing (due to the number of students housed off-campus), the website does provide the following resources:

• Searchable database (opens in a new tab) of off-campus housing options
• Connections to local newspaper classified ads
• Properties available through listings on Craig's List
• Interactive maps of Boone and campus
• Roommate contract template to use to identify topics to discuss with a potential roommate in order to determine compatibility
